Calle Alumbrado Tot Lot Now Open

The tot lots are being transformed into state-of-the-art play areas for all young residents, complete with updated equipment, safer surfaces, and improved accessibility. The project will provide spaces that will encourage Talega children to run, climb, and explore in safe and stimulating environments. 

The Calle Alumbrado tot lot is now open! The Cazadero tot lot is scheduled to open by 4th of July. Additional information coming soon!

TSAC Bathroom Construction

Construction on the upper bathrooms at the Talega Swim & Athletic Club continues. During construction, the lower bathrooms near the splash pad and the Talega Swim & Athletic Clubhouse bathrooms will remain open.

City of San Clemente Upcoming Events

The City of San Clemente is hosting Stars, Stripes, & Slip 'N Slides on Thursday, July 4th at 10:00 a.m. at Avenida Rosa and Avenida Victoria 

The City of San Clemente is thrilled to announce a brand-new Independence Day celebration, "Stars, Stripes, & Slip ‘N Slides." This family-friendly event will kick off at 10:00 a.m. and promises a day filled with entertainment, food and drinks, and fun activities for all ages. Join us for fun and festivities as we celebrate Independence Day in true San Clemente style!

Admission into the event space is free. An all-access activity wristband is available for purchase at a presale rate of $7/person (non-residents are $12/person pre-sale) until July 3rd or on-site for a rate of $10/person (non-residents are $15/person). The wristband includes unlimited runs on the San Clemente Slip ‘N Slide and other activities. Additional family discounts may be available at checkout. Food and drinks will be available separately for a nominal fee. 

The City of San Clemente is hosting a Independence Day Fireworks show on Thursday, July 4th at the San Clemente Municipal Pier located at 622 Avenida Del Mar, San Clemente, CA 92672. 

Celebrate freedom and America with the annual free fireworks show!

The end of the Pier will close July 3rd at 12:00 p.m.; the entire Pier will be closed on July 4th at 8:00 a.m.

Santa Margarita Water District Workshops

The Santa Margarita Water District is hosting a free Drip Irrigation Fundamentals Zoom Webinar on Tuesday, July 30th from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. 

This is part of a series on learning how to design a yard using the principles of watershed-wise landscaping. Poor irrigation practices are the number one reason plants fail. Want to save your landscape?

Community Reminders

As we embrace the warmer months, we would like to address a concern that has been raised by several residents: excessive noise from lawn mowers, yard care equipment, carpet cleaners, and mobile car detailers.

Our community is known for its tranquility and peaceful surroundings. However, the constant hum of gas-powered equipment disrupts this harmony. As considerate neighbors, we have an opportunity to minimize unnecessary noise and enhance everyone’s quality of life.

We kindly ask each of you to be mindful of the following:

• Operating Hours: Please limit the use of noisy equipment to reasonable hours. Avoid early mornings, evenings, and Sundays when possible. The City of San Clemente noise ordinance permits exterior noise levels in residential use areas up to 55 dBA from 7:00 am to 10:00 pm and up to 50 dBA from 10:00 pm to 7:00 am (City of San Clemente Municipal Code §8.48. 050).
• Maintenance:  Equipment should be maintained to reduce noise levels. Dull blades, poorly tuned engines, bad or removed mufflers -too many landscapers do it…- can create an unnecessary racket. You can get quality gas equipment mufflers for under $15 online. Ask your contractors to comply.
• Alternatives: Ask your contractors to switch to electric or battery-powered equipment, which tends to be quieter. San Clemente already prohibits the use of gas leaf blowers (Municipal Code ordinance Title 8, Chapter 8.50).
• Communication: If you plan a major landscaping project, inform your neighbors in advance. This way, they can prepare for any temporary disruptions.
