Talega’s History
In 1925, Ole Hanson, the former mayor of Seattle turned real-estate developer, had an idea to build a “Spanish Village by the Sea” in a remote undeveloped tract of land half way between Los Angeles and San Diego. San Clemente was one of the country’s first master planned communities. Talega is one of the newest master-planned communities located in San Clemente. Talega comprises 40 unique neighborhoods spanning over 3,510 acres with 19 miles of community trails. Construction of the Talega community began in 1999 and was completed in 2015. Elevated coastal living, carefully curated lifestyle events, and luxury amenities are just a few of the things that set Talega apart from other HOA communities in Southern California.
As we look back on our history and appreciate how far we’ve come, we should also look ahead to what exciting plans are in the works for the future. The 25th anniversary theme will be woven into all lifestyle events in 2025. It will be an opportunity to honor Talega’s legacy, connect with neighbors, and create lasting memories.
